I have been able to fish the last 2 mornings. Yesterday was slow, but I ended up finding a few white bass and one hybrid. Roy’s impressed with the size of the Norfork Lake crappie he caught last evening.  Early this this morning I headed in a different direction but couldn’t go far due to the dense fog. It was a slow go, so I ended up only fishing 2 different spots. There were a few whites and hybrids roaming around the first location. Jackie & I landed a couple of each. We moved at about 5AM and found lots of bait with fish feeding. Whites, stripers, hybrids and a walleye were the targeted species. We were casting out 3.5 inch swimbaits and/or a 1/2 ounce Kastmaster. The shad were spawning. I found spawning shad a couple of weeks ago, but the cold front moved in and pushed the shad back. I talked to a few of my fishing friends and they did find spotty striped bass top water. I think the current rise of the lake level and all the fresh water has gotten the fish active. I believe there is going to be some really great fishing in the next few days. Of course, mother nature always has the last say!

The surface water temperature is on a slow rise and was a little over 66 degrees in the main lake. The lake level is on the rise due to all the rain that our water shed received from up in Missouri. The lake level currently sits at 555.67 ft msl.
