We had another front move through last evening. I guess there was some rain and thunder, but I slept right through it. Except for the wind coming out of the north with cooler temps this morning, nothing changed in the fishing. I got out on the lake around 4AM and started checking out my normal spots with no luck so far. I saw Wayne and his friends fishing in one of the areas. They had a blast casting and catching white bass, hybrids and a striped bass. They were using 3.5 inch swimbaits.  I continued moving around and went to a couple main lake points that have some buck brush out in the water. On my first cast with a swimbait I got hooked up with a striped bass which was released. I continued casting as close to the brush as I could get and kept getting short strikes. At last, another nice striper decided he wanted to eat and took my bait for a long ride. What fun! I stayed in this area and landed a couple walleye, one a little over 18″ and a huge crappie decide to go for the same swimbait. As soon as it started to get light out the fish vacated the area. I kept moving around looking for bait and found one nice school, but it was moving quickly.  All at once the fish started to erupt on the bait, but they were way too far away to cast to and went down and left as I came closer. The late afternoon bite has been really good for a few of our Hummingbird Hideaway guests. A lot of whites with some hybrids, stripers and spotted bass have been surface feeding along a shallow shoreline outside of a small creek. John and Brian have been having a blast casting out Kastmasters. The lake surface temp this morning was around 65 degrees on the main lake. The lake level is still holding fairly stable and sits a t 553.70 ft msl.

Happy fishing all and enjoy fishing Norfork Lake in the Arkansas Ozarks!
