Troy and Bart are having a pretty good fishing vacation so far. Attached are a few photos that they sent me yesterday from the prior 3 days. They still have several more days of fishing if the strong winds every let up. They have been catching a little of every species, but crappie have been the best bite for them. They have been trolling size 5 Flicker Minnows in 15 to 40 feet of water. They have been working coves/creeks and the crappie are scattered throughout the cove in all different depths of water. Some are on the brush and other are roaming around. Striped bass are still scattered out, but early in the morning they seem to be in shallow water on large main creek points. Their fish have been caught casting swimbaits up to the shoreline. As the sunrises the stripers move out and are laying on the bottom in 35 feet of water or so. The deeper fish have been caught vertical jigging a Tater Shad or a Binks spoon. Tater Shads need to be dead sticked, and the spoon is being hit on the fall. A few walleye are also being caught in the same areas. The lake is slowly warming back up. A week or so ago the main lake was in the low 60’s then dropped to around 55 with all the cool fronts rolling through. The main lake is almost back to 60. If the water temp continues to rise the fishing should take off. The Norfork Lake level is at normal seasonal pool of 553.75 ft msl. I have been off the lake with some boat issues, but all are fixed up and I am ready to go.
