There was a good walleye and white bass bite this morning. I started out vertical jigging a 3/4 ounce Many Shad Binks spoon. Got to land one walleye and several big white bass in the dark. At about 6:30 I switched to trolling #9 Flicker Minnows at about 30 ft deep. I was jigging my spoon in 27 to 30 feet of water and when I started to troll, I stayed in 28 to 35 feet of water. I caught fish in all the depths of water. I ended up landing another 6 walleye, all but one were keeper size. I kept 3 that were all over 19 inches long. The white bass were the jumbo size this morning and boy were they a lot of fun to catch. I fished the same flat this morning from 5:30 to 8:30AM. The fish seem to disappear a little after 8AM. On Wednesday I fished the Diamond Bay area. There was some topwater action for spotted bass and the walleye were in 30 feet of water off of the side of points.

The lake level is dropping slowly and currently sits at 556.12 ft msl. The surface lake temp this morning was around 83 degrees. The main lake is fairly clear with the coves somewhat stained. The thermocline in our area is hanging around 30 feet and down by the dam it appears to be around 35 to 40 feet.

Nothing unusual for the hottest part of the year. The temperature is finally dropping a bit so this should help the bite improve.
